Paying for care
What would the whole bill include?
Ask for medicine, visits, tests and delivery to be written out separately. What will the bill look like once a special offer is over?
Go to the writable cost sheetIs there a price I can use as a guide?
In September 2026, the maker’s published list price for a package of liraglutide (Saxenda) was $1,349.02.
List price names the maker’s published figure; ask for the amount due from you.
The recorded price source does not say how many pens that package contains.
The package price alone cannot tell you what a month of care would cost.

Ask how many pens the quoted price includes and how long they would last for you. Get the full monthly bill in writing before filling in the sheet.
Would my insurance plan pay?
Ask which medicine is on the plan’s covered-drug list. That list is sometimes called a formulary.
For September 2026, liraglutide for type 2 diabetes can fall within Medicare drug coverage.
A plan’s covered-drug list still decides which products it pays for.
As checked in September 2026, Medicare’s usual drug cover does not pay for liraglutide used for weight loss.
Medicare also has a temporary scheme called the GLP-1 Bridge that helps pay for certain weight-loss drugs separately from usual drug cover; liraglutide is left out.

Ask whether the plan needs prior authorization: agreement from the insurer before it pays. Who would send that request, and what happens if it is turned down?
Which costs still need an answer?
Mark what is answered, then add a note. A blank part of the bill can stay on your question list.
